by Helen Tupperand and Sarah Ellis

The Squiggly Career (2020) is full of helpful advice and fresh ideas for navigating careers with lots of twists and turns. If you know your strengths, values, and goals, you can use them in your job and notice when they aren't being used. The authors share how to connect with people by helping them, the good side of starting a side project, and how to make the most of the control we now have over our careers.

About the author Helen Tupper is the co-founder and CEO of Amazing If, a successful company that helps people grow in their careers. She used to work at Microsoft, Virgin, and BP. This is her first book.

Before starting Amazing If with Helen, Sarah Ellis led marketing and social responsibility teams at Barclay's and Sainsbury's. The Squiggly Career is also her first book.

Enjoy the Perks of a Non-Linear Career

On average, we'll all spend a whopping 90,000 hours working throughout our lives! You'd think that's plenty of time to achieve our career dreams and become experts, but careers these days aren't straightforward anymore. They're more like a winding path with lots of turns – we call it "squiggly."

Things have changed! Gone are the days of working for one company until you retire, getting a gold watch, and a comfy pension. In today's fast-paced work world, how can we make the most of those 90,000 hours?

This book explores the thrill and potential of a squiggly career and shows how being flexible and adaptable is the key to succeeding in the modern job market.
